Court jails driver's mate for abetment of crime

Sekondi March 9 –GNA - A Sekondi District Magistrate's Court on Thursday sentenced Yaw Coffie, a driver's mate to 18 months imprisonment in hard labour for abetment of crime.
 The accused pleaded guilty.Prosecuting , Police Sergeant Adu Kyeremeh, said at about 1130 hours on December 16 last year, the accused aided and abetted with one Martin Takyi to steal five gallons of diesel fuel valued at 175,000 cedis at Sekyere Krobo in the Mpohor Wassa East District.
  He said Takyi, who was seen by a witness stealing the fuel from a businessman is serving 18 months imprisonment in hard labour.
 Sergeant Kyeremeh said Takyi gave the stolen fuel to Coffie for safekeeping but he was arrested and charged with the offence during investigation into the case.
