Rainstorm destroys buildings at Nkontomire

Nkontomire, (Ash), March 19, GNA – Seven buildings collapsed at Nkontomire near Asakraka in the Atwima Nwabiagya district on Thursday when severe rainstorm swept through the township.
 There were no casualties but the extent of damage was estimated at several millions of cedis.
 Briefing the Ghana News Agency at Nkontomire during an inspection, Mr Frimpong Manso, assembly member for the area said the incident occurred around 2230 hours on Thursday during the downpour.
 He said the displaced victims were temporarily putting up with friends, relatives and sympathizers.
 Mr Frimpong Manso appealed to the Atwima Nwabiagya district Assembly, NADMO and other philanthropists to come to the aid of the community to enable them to rehabilitate their houses.
