Tema, March 5, GNA - Mr. Abraham Ossei-Aidoo, Member of Parlaiment for
Tema West Constituency on Sunday called on the elderly to translate
and imbibe their rich knowledge to the youth a to guide them to become
responsible adults.
He said that it would be worthless if they kept their rich
experience to themselves and depart with it adding that the youth need
the advise of their and criticisms of their elders so that incase
they went wrong they can confidently build on their experience to
develop their lives towards nation building.
Mr. Ossei-Aidoo who is also the Parliamentary Deputy Majority
Leader made the call at a Keep Fit programme that he organized for the
youth of all the political parties in the constituency.
He said that the programme dubbed "Unity Keep Fit" was organized
as part of his programme of activities planned to mark Ghana's golden
jubilee to unite all the youth in the constituency irrespective of
their political affiliations to achieve a common objective of peace
and development.
Mr Ossei-Aidoo said while the Keep Fit exercise was to rekindle
memories of the elderly it was also aimed at also enabling the youth
to exercise their body to put them in healthy condition adding that it
is hoped that the programme would be sustained and organized annually.
He expressed gratitude to the management of the Ghana Ports and
Harbours Authority for sponsoring the programme.
The participants who were led by the Member of Parliament and
dressed in the national colours of the Flag walked briskly, starting
from the Tema Community Two lorry part through the major streets to
Community Eight and ended up at the Aggrey road school.
