Suhum (E/R), March 3, GNA - The Suhum police in the Eastern Region,
have mounted a search for a 68-year-old farmer, Kofi Asiedu of Suhum
for allegedly digging the grave of her 96-year-old sister, Okomfo
Akosua Krontemang, a Fetish Priest.
Police sources told the Ghana News Agency that, the suspect,
popularly called "Kofi Yesu" and the deceased lived in the same house
at Ali a suburb of Suhum.
He said the deceased died one month ago and was buried on
February 16th this year at the Suhum public cemetery.
The source said after the burial, the suspect and a group of
people who are also on the run went to the cemetery in the night and
exhumed the body and looted all the items used in burying the
deceased.
The police source said the crime was detected the following
morning by the workers of the cemetery, and reported it to the family
members of the deceased, who in turn confronted the suspect, which he
admitted to.
The case was then reported to the police but in an attempt to
arrest the suspect, he bolted away.
