Watchman granted 100 million cedis bail over defilement

Kumasi, Feb 2, GNA – A Kumasi circuit court has granted bail to Dramani Tanagela, a 45-year-old watchman, in the sum of 100 million cedis with two sureties for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl.Dramani, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, will re-appear on February 13.Police Chief Inspector Comfort Baffour-Kyei, prosecuting, told
the court, presided over by Mr R.M. Kugyapwah, that the girl, who is a school drop out, lived in the same house with Dramani at  Moshie-Zongo in Kumasi.

She said in October last year, around 1300 hours the girl was asleep in their storeroom where the accused sneaked into and forcibly had sex with her.Chief Inspector Baffour-Kyei said a month later Dramani repeated the act on the girl at the storeroom.The prosecution said on December 6, last year, she fell sick and started discharging some offensive fluid from her genitalia.Upon questioning, the girl revealed her ordeal to her sister and a report was made to the Asawasi police.A medical report said the girl had been defiled.
