Ministry to issue appointment letters to graduates of School of Hygiene

Accra, Feb. 2, GNA - The Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Environment on Friday said appointment letters would soon be issued to 2004 and 2005 graduates of the School of Hygiene at Ho and Tamale, who were posted in November 2005 to  various Municipal and District Assemblies. An official of the Ministry told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Friday that all the necessary documents had been forwarded to the Head of the Civil Service to have their appointments regularized. He appealed to the affected graduates to exercise patience while the Civil Service completed procedures to ensure transparency. He also said the Ministry was making every effort to ensure that their allowances which were stopped since November 2005 were restored.

The graduates last Tuesday sent a petition to the Minister appealing to him to help them to obtain their appointment letters. They said they had not received any allowance since their names were deleted from the Government pay voucher in November 2005."We, therefore, write this petition to solicit your assistance since life is becoming unbearable for us in our various stations in the municipal and district assemblies," the petition signed by Mr Christ-John Ganugbe, Secretary of the group, said.
