Abuakwa (Ash), Feb 12, GNA - Mr Imoro Azumah, the Abuakwa Sub-District Director of Health Services, has said the co-operation of Community-Based Surveillance (CBS) volunteers assisted in effective and efficient health delivery in the district.
He said the setting up of demographic health care registers to document the health care needs such as births, deaths and incidence of diseases by volunteers was laudable. Mr Azumah was speaking at a get-together organised for members of the Health Volunteers Association at Abuakwa in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District at the weekend.He said his outfit was aware of the logistic problems facing them in the discharge of their duties and gave the assurance that the health directorate would provide some of their needs.
Mr Kwabena Osei Agyemang, secretary of the association, appealed for the supply of Wellington boots and bicycles to enable them reach remote areas.
