Akim Osino sub-station nurses 30,000 cocoa seedlings

Akim Osino (E/R), Feb. 8. GNA - The seed production unit of the COCOBOD at Akim Osino, has nursed 30,000 cocoa seedlings to be sold to prospective farmers this year.The Project Officer of the Production Unit of COCOBOD, Mr Kwame Sarkodie  disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency at an interview at Akim Osino.He said the COCOBOD had two nurseries at Kwabeng and Osino and had nursed 20,000 at Akim Osino and 10,000 at Kwabeng in the Atiwa District.
Mr Sarkodie said the Production Unit had increased the number of the seedlings by 10,000 this year as against 20,000 seedlings produced last year.He said series of workshops would be organized to educate farmers on how to  maintain their farms for increased production and emphasized that healthy cocoa seedlings would help the farmers.
