Branch One of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), on
Tuesday said marginal increases in petroleum products should attract
corresponding increment in fares.
He said since any increases in the commodity would naturally have a
rippling effect on their daily fuel budget, it was obvious that the
extra expenditure was recouped to enable them break even.
Mr. Hehetro told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that fuel was
only a component of items beside spare parts, tyres, brake fluid among
others, which are considered in the transportation industry.The
National Petroleum Authority (NPA) on Monday released new prices of
the commodity to reflect the rising cost of crude oil on the
international market.
