Kumasi Methodist men's Guild holds thanksgiving service

Kumasi, Jan. 28, GNA - Very Reverend George Kofi Boampong, Superintendent Minister of Old Tafo Circuit of the Methodist church has said that, Christians have a greater responsibility of pursuing the great Commission commanded by Christ and also to propagate the gospel.
 He said by the Commission, the followers of Christ were expected to make disciples of all the nations.
 Very Reverend Boampong was preaching a sermon at a thanksgiving service for the 13-member executive of the Kumasi Diocese of the Methodist Guild at the Wesley Cathedral at Adum in Kumasi on Sunday.He said the guild formed in the Kumasi diocese 28 years ago, had played a great role in pursuing the vision and mission of the Methodism and urged them not to relent in evangelising to win more souls for Christ.Very Reverend Boampong who is also the diocesan chaplain of the guild, called for self-denial among Christians saying, they would undergo pain and suffering in pursuit of the Christian faith.

 "Allow God to work through you and in the end your efforts will be rewarded," he added.Mr G.K Arkoh-Mensah, Kumasi diocesan president of the guild, said the guild aims among others to win more souls and assist the poor and the marginalised in society.
