Jukwa Secondary emerge Milo champions

Cape Coast, Jan. 29, GNA - Jukwa Secondary School emerged the Central Region Inter-Schools and Colleges Soccer Milo Champions when they beat Obrachire Secondary School 1-0 in the finals of the Regional Inter Schools and Colleges league match played at the Robert Mensah stadium at Cape Coast on Saturday.Jukwa Secondary will thus join Potsin Ahmadiyya Secondary School to represent the Central Region in the forthcoming Inter-Regional Milo games to be held at Koforidua in the Eastern Region.The champions were presented with one million cedis while the runners up, Obrachire Secondary School had 800,000 cedis.
 
Rev. Paa Grant Essilfie, headmaster of Saltpond Methodist High School, who presented the prizes comemended the schools for their show of good sportsmanship during the league and advised them to keep it up.He advised the victorious players to take their training seriously to bring more laurels to the region at the Milo games.
 Just as referee Jeffery Amamoo signaled the two sides into action, Jukwa Secondary made their intentions clear when they netted an early goal in the fifth minute through Stephen Oppong through a spot kick which turned out to be the match winner.
 Despite the early set back, Obrachire Secondary matched their opponents squarely as they made frantic efforts to level up the scores but try as they did they could not find the net till the end of proceedings with the scores standing at 1-0 in favour of Jukwa Secondary School.
